We currently do not offer any type of swords.

Swords are similar to Fantasy knives and are are often props.  They are styled after props in movies or television shows and are, for the most part, not usable.  Our focus is custom knives that are both collectible and useful at the same time.

So if you are looking for Lord of the Rings swords we are not the right place for you.  Please do not take this as a disparaging remark as the style and the art associated with those items is considerable but just not in keeping with the theme of this site.

I practise Iaido and have a great deal of respect for what most people call Samurai swords. Most of the swords offered on the Internet are fakes. They are for display but are advertised as the real thing. Please be careful.

These are often made of Brass and do not have full tangs. This means that if you brandish them about like Jet li you will like hurt someone unintentionally because the sword will simply fall apart.

So if you are going to get a real Samurai sword do some research or better yet take a class. If you take a class and know what a real sword feels like in your hands you will appreciate the true art that it takes to create one. By the way, they are not cheap.

A real sword can be $20,000 dollars. A handmade Katana takes a great deal of skill to create and are worthy of the price that they demand. Antique swords that are offered on the Internet are not genuine. The Japanese government has declared antique Katanas are national treasures. So if you find a bargain authentic sword – leave that site as they are not representing their products truthfully. There are collectors of this type of product and if asked they will produce a history of the vintage sword and a letter of authenticity.

The Practise swords can range from 350 to 1500 dollars. The other swords are fine as long as you know what they are.

There are many quality providers of these products.  Our suggestion is to buy the products based on the fit and finish and do not worry about the type of metal it is constructed of.  You may also consider purchasing a display case at the same time as they will likely be able to offer you a better deal as a package rather than buying the items separately.
