Parts of a Knife
There are several terms that describe the various elements that make up a knife. The need to understand some of these terms is to enable you to understand the type of knife that you are about to purchase. The elements or parts of the knife serve different purposes. By being able to identify the elements allows you to pick the type of knife that best suits your needs.

I have been making knives on a part time basis for about thirty years. Now that I am retired from the daily workforce I still do my knife making part time usually working two to three hours a day. I treat it as a hobby and find it to be both enjoyable and challenging. I do not want to turn it into a full time job! But now that my sons, their wives and my fourteen grandchildren and other relatives all have one or more of my knives I decided it was time to start selling some in order to “feed” my hobby.
